Children's Surgery at the Royal Berks, Reading
When I was appointed as an ENT consultant, at the RBH, I developed the integration of ENT, Audiology, Speech & Language and Education into a multidisciplinary team for children with deafness (see video).I have been chair of the Children's Forum which is charged with the safety and protection of children in our hospital. I have also served as chair of the Paediatric Surgical Working Group.

Royal Navy
I am a retired reserve medical officer. I was in the Royal Navy from 1988 to 2000. One of my many attachments was to the Royal Naval Air Station at HMS Daedalus, Lee-on-Solent (pictured below left). I also lectured regularly on the Underwater Medicine course at the Institute of Naval Medicine, Alverstoke.
